What is rockinplayer?
---------------------
A fast player and browser for audio files (samples, mixes, recordings): click a file and listen right away, with waveform,
zoom, selection/loop, loudness measurement (LUFS), level meters with peak hold, markers/slicing and conversion
(WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3, OGG). Also history, favorites and a sortable file list with metadata (ID3, WAV INFO, BWF bext, iXML).

System requirements
-------------------
* Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
* Audio output through the default playback device of Windows

Installation
------------
Option A – installer: run rockinplayer-Setup.exe (installs for your user, no administrator rights needed).
Option B – no installation: unzip and start rockinplayer.exe. Keep all files in the same folder.

Using it as the default player
------------------------------
In the program: tab "Settings" → "Register as audio program". Then, in Windows under
Settings → Apps → Default apps → rockinplayer, choose the file types you want (.wav, .flac, .mp3 …).
Windows does not let programs set the default themselves.

Language
--------
The user interface is available in German and English. By default it follows the Windows language;
change it under Settings → Language.

MP3 export
----------
MP3 export uses the LAME library (libmp3lame-0.dll). It has to be in the same folder as rockinplayer.exe
(included in the installer and the zip). Without the file all other functions work normally.

Important keys
--------------
Space Play/Pause · Home to start · L Loop · M Marker · Esc clear selection · ↑ ↓ previous/next file
Mouse wheel zoom · Ctrl + mouse wheel scroll · double-click in the waveform: clear selection

Data and privacy
----------------
rockinplayer has no telemetry. The only network connection is the update check at startup (it fetches just the version file from
rockinbear.net; it can be turned off under Settings → Updates). Settings, favorites and history are stored in %APPDATA%\rockinplayer\.
Original files are never modified; exports only go to folders you choose.

License
-------
rockinplayer is proprietary software (see EULA.en.txt; the German EULA.txt is the binding version). Included third-party free software and
its licenses: THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES.txt and the Info window (click the line at the bottom right of the program).
